If you want a truly one-of-a-kind session, I can’t recommend an in-home session enough! The first thing we always discuss when planning for an in-home session is the amount of natural light you get in the room(s) you’d like to use. I’ll even have you send me some photos of those rooms in the morning and afternoon just to help guide what time of day may be best to have the shoot! While it’s completely fine to use just one room in your home, we can definitely move around the house (and even go outside) if you’d like to have some variety in your gallery, and to better tell the story of your season of life. For Melissa’s newborn session, we did the family shots where there was great light AND room to move around to make sure everyone could fit comfortably in the photos. There is so many things that play into where I shoot (lighting, composition, comfort of my clients, distractions, colors, etc) that it’s actually a really fun challenge for me each home I step into a home!
I’m sharing a glimpse of the Gilmore family session below. Melissa is also a photographer (and very talented) so I was thrilled that she trusted me to document such a sweet season for her family. Enjoy some of my favorites from her session!
